Taylors Falls MN artist, Mary Pettis, is a classically trained painter whose lifetime in art is reflected in hundreds of originals, thousands of reproductions and etchings in collections in nearly every state and in several countries.

She is the recipient of numerous national and regional awards and was recently selected by Fine Art Connoisseur Magazine to be part of the National Invitational Exhibition: ?Artists for the New Century? in Bennington, Vermont.

She has been a featured artist in the Modern Masters section of Plein Air Magazine. Mary is considered to be among the top plein air painters in the country and is regularly invited to participate in national painting events and exhibitions. She has been recognized as an eloquent and respected teacher and mentor, and this year, 2008, is teaching workshops in the Dordogne Region in southern France (May), and in Venice (October), as well as her summer workshop in Taylors Falls.

Her most recent honor is an invitation to travel and exhibit with the renowned Chinese master painter, Jove Wang, which will take her on painting adventures into China, Russia, and the Swiss Alps.
