About Michael

Michael is a Signature Member of the Pastel Society of America, and a juried member of Oil Painters of America. He is also a member of Pastel Artists Canada, the Pastel Society of New Mexico, International Plein Air Painters, Plein Air Painters of the Bay of Fundy, Landscape Artists International and Art for Patronage. His award-winning work has been in shows across the country and has been published in American Artist and Fine Art Connoisseur (Plein Air Magazine).

Like many artists, Michael teaches. He offers painting workshops across the US and in Canada in places as varied as Alabama, Colorado and New Brunswick. He also conducts intensive workshops at his studio and gallery in the Canadian Maritimes. He runs an open studio at Friar's Bay Studio Gallery on Campobello Island.

Besides being a full-time artist, Michael is also a writer. His book, The Art of Ann Templeton: A Step Beyond, was published in June, 2005. Books with other nationally-known artists are in the works. He writes extensively for The Pastel Journal, The Artist's Magazine and Watercolor Magic, and has written for American Artist and Southwest Art.

Michael lives and paints on Campobello Island, New Brunswick (Canada) in the summer and travels and paints in the American Southwest in the winter.
