For artists, community is said to be instrumental to your success, but ever wonder what that means? Do you feel like you need to expand your community but dont know how to? The social aspects of the art world can be intimidating and hard to define. The Fall 2007 Business of Art Conference will take on the question of networking for visual artists, looking specifically on how to broaden and engage your community without feeling like you are selling out or not being yourself.
Defining Your Place in the Creative Community will start with a practical workshop on networking skills, followed by small discussions groups and community building activities. In the afternoon a panel discussion will focus on the role of the artist initiated projects in the current New York art world. Doctors Hours and NYFA Source information seminars will run throughout the day offering practical resources and advice.
