Phil is a celebrity on the web and those of you who are seasoned webbers have surely ran into him, virtually.

Phil Levine is founder of the Art Students League of Denver and served as its first president from 1987 - 1993. During his travels throughout France in the early 90's he decided to begin organizing artists workshops for American painters.

On November 9, 2007, Phil is instructing a workshop in the St. Thomas with the Painting Gyspies.

Navigating Color Space is a DVD program I created on color mixing. By using 3D computer animation, I can best show painters how to access the universe of color, I call Color Space. The animated sequences demonstrate how to define a color by its attributes: value, hue and intensity (chroma). Oil Colors Throughout The Centuries

Fascinated with historical oil colors, artist and paintmaker Robert Gamblin recently had the opportunity to manufacture these paints and compare them with those available today. "I'm sure the Old Masters would love to be alive today," says Robert Gamblin, a painter, a paint manufacturer, and the owner of Gamblin Artists Colors in Portland, Oregon. "Having surveyed three hundred years of paintmaking history, it is my opinion that artist-grade oil paints have continually improved and have never been better." Last year, Gamblin and his wife and partner, Martha, were commissioned to do a research project for the conservation department of Washington, DC's Smithsonian Institution that gave him firsthand knowledge of the types of oil colors used in the seventeenth, eighteenth, and nineteenth centuries.
